The Challenge: Vibrations from Grate-Shaking Processes
In this foundry facility, cranes are routinely used to lift and shake large castings on vibrating grates to remove residual sand from molds. This operation subjects the crane to intense repetitive impacts and vibrations, which over time can lead to:
• Structural fatigue

maintenance
Without any dampening system, the force of the vibrations is transmitted directly back into the crane structure - a costly risk for any production-critical lifting equipment.

The Solution: Crane Protection Dampener
The foundry integrated our Crane Protection dampener directly between the load hook and lifting chains. This effectively decouples the vibration energy, shielding the crane’s trolley and structure from the harsh oscillations of the shake-out process.

One of our 250kN dampers was successfully used in a sheet pile wall removal operation in an inner-city area with a 250-ton mobile crane – in a very confined space, with a significant reduction in the crane load.
