This website gives general information about vibration dampeners and examples of their use. It is not a lifting plan, operating manual or confirmation that a particular combination of crane, hammer and dampener is suitable for an application.

Selection and safe use

Use the current manufacturer documentation for the specific equipment and configuration. A competent person must assess crane capacity, dynamic loads, dampener mass, rigging and site conditions. The dampener’s mass contributes to the hook load. Published examples and illustrations do not replace that assessment.

A dampener reduces vibration transmitted from the vibratory hammer through the suspended load path. It does not eliminate every source of vibration or guarantee that damage cannot occur. Performance depends on the application and loading.
